Helicopter training is carried out in the Bell 47, a helicopter that is widely accepted throughout the world as the most effective training helicopter of all time.

If required, training can be conducted on other types according to customer needs, or a combination of types may be used. It is recommended that a maximum of two types only be used in basic training and the most useable other type to be included would be the Robinson 22.

Several other helicopter types are on line, including the R44 and an IFR Agusta A109A. Endorsements can be conducted on a number machines types that are available for our use.

As the picture shows, we are fortunate enough to have ready access to a wide variety of training environments. These range from the bright sands of the Sunshine Coast, the Glasshouse Mountains (pictured) forest terrain, and small towns that provide useful and challenging navigation waypoints.

The Caboolture airstrip from which we fly is located such that we can fly north to controlled airspace of Maroochydore, south to Brisbane International, or the Gold Coast, or mix it with gliders at Gympie.

We don't have to fly for long periods of time to be in the training area, as happens at some locations. You will pre-flight the helicopter, check the fuel and the weather, take off and immediately be able to practice manoeuvres and situations.

As we also have a maintenance facility, we have high machine availability. Routine or unexpected maintenance does not interfere with out training schedule.
